Trip to Europe

Yep, Nathan and I got to go back to Europe. Nathan served his mission in Belgium and while he was there I got the opportunity to be on a dance tour team that toured the Netherlands, Denmark and Sweden. So we decided to visit Nathan's mission, plus one day in Paris, because that is where I've always wanted to go. It was so much fun and we got to see so many amazing sites. And to see how other people live in other countries was really amazing as well. It sure did make me appreciate small and simple things that I take for granted. We left around 5pm Sunday, September 9. Drove out to my parents in Stansbury and the following morning my Dad dropped us off at the airport. Because we were leaving the country and made sure that we were there in plenty of time. Our flight left Salt Lake City at 8:30 and we flew to Chicago where we had a three hour layover until our next flight. Because of the tail wind we arrived in Amsterdam early. The people that were picking us up were late. So we were stuck in the airport for two hours. Hoping that they didn't think we were coming the next day and we would have to stay the night there. There was a car accident that caused them to be late. Thank goodness. Then they drove us to there place. After stopping to eat on the way. The next day we went to Halle. Brigette car broke down and so Nathan and I just took pictures walking up and down the street. These pictures are of Halle and then catching the train to go back to Brigette's house. The last picture is Brigette the lady that we stayed with.

This is the first year that we did a trunk or treat as a ward. Yep we even took our camera to take pictures and got pictures of everyone but us. :( Any way here is the only ones that I got of us and we aren't all together, but it's all I've got.

Changes Are Good Right?

Since this is the most fresh on my mind I'm going to start with this and then play catch up! Yesterday, Sunday, September 30 was the day that Nathan got sustained as the "New" Bishop Goodrich of the Roosevelt 3rd Ward. Which makes me....yep Bishops wife. Not only that but two weeks before on the 16th I was put in as the Stake Young Women Second Counselor. Can you say YAY! Oh Boy, overwhelmed, and humbling feelings all at the same time. Our family has been truly blessed over the years and this too is going to be a blessing right?! I know that during certain times of the year are going to be hectic for us and require scheduling and taking kids with us sometimes. I do not know any of the other ladies that are in the presidency with me. I've seen them all just have never met them personally. I know that this call has come from the Lord. Also, last Sunday Oct. 14 we got a new Stake Presidency. This is a time of change not only for our family, but our Ward and Stake Families as well.

Where do I begin?

I don't even know if I have blog readers any more since my post have been really slacking lately. I have gone to post several times and forgot that I had no more "free" memory space to upload pictures, and who likes to read posts with no pictures?! That is no fun. Any way I think I have it taken care of now so here goes.... So Where do I begin where I left off and play catch up or what's going on now and then back up from there? Well I guess we'll play catch up so that things are in order. May In May my oldest turned 15 and I really couldn't believe that she only has one more year until dating and driving begins. Well actually we get to drive with her before that, but still time sure does fly by the older you get. Anyway, 15 things I want to remember about MaKelle... 1. I love how she has a love for music and I don't have to remind her to practice she just does it on her own. At 5:30 am I might add. She is also working on YW projects where she is arranging her own music and I totally love that as well. 2. She does really well in School. I don't have to ask her if she has homework, because when she does she does it and is very smart. 3. She wants to be the worlds youngest author. She has written several books and the first one is getting close to being published. 4. She loves soccer, and I love watching her play. Wither on Octane or Union High School I love cheering for her and her team. 5. She loves to read. 6. She is very mature for her age. People always think she is older then she actually is. 7. She's also very tall. Yes, time for me to admit it, she's even taller then me. 8. Loves to babysit. Brothers and Sisters not so much, but does it with a smile none the less. 9. Love that she likes to come home and tell me all about her day and every single detail as well. I don't think that I've ever gotten just fine out of her. 10. Love that she has a strong testimony of the gospel and isn't afraid to share it. 11. She loves seminary. 12. She Reads her scriptures every single night and morning on her own. Meaning in addition to our family scripture study she also does it on her own. 13. If she says she is going to do something she does. 14. Keeps a journal every night. I might need it to help me get caught up and to remember things that we have done. :) 15. I love how she Knows she is a daughter of God and tries her best everyday. She pulls people up to her level instead of going down to theirs. I love you so very much MaKelle and want you to know that you have made me one Proud Momma.

Physical Therapy

Since the end of April I have been going to Physical Therapy with MaKelle. It has been quite a painful experience for me. I hope to never have to go again Knock on wood! Today the therapist made me a splint for my finger to try and get it drawn into a fist. I have to wear the thing for 30 minutes then rest for an hour and repeat throughout the day. Not Fun! It was hard to drive home with that thing on so I had MaKelle shift for me. It sure does take a long time for a finger to heal. Went to the doctor June 14 and I went from making a fist 82% to 95% I guess the splint is working but ever so slowly. I did lose a little on straightening. And it is still a little bit swollen. I keep going to take a picture of my finger and splints, but haven't gotten to it, so I'm just going to post this and then maybe I'll get around to adding the pictures later. As for MaKelle they were surprised that her hamstring was taking so long to heal. We've decided that since she hurt it and kept playing soccer that it didn't have time to heal and was re pulling it again and again. So she reluctantly had to for go Octane this past Spring and has taken it easy a little so that she can heal faster.
